A wonderful new addition!

It started with:
Me: Hey Aarush there is a baby in mommy's  tummy !!!
Aarush: So, did you eat the baby?
And I just told him in straight terms that he is going to be a big brother.

Because Caillou and Super Why both have baby sisters we assumed Aarush will also have one. We were a little disappointed knowing about baby brother but it didnt last long.
Aarush believes he is hulk and decided his brother could be named Iron Man and voila! we were all set to welcome our next superhero. I am the black widow spider and Kiran is Capt. America if you must know.

After waiting for 9 long months (No, they did not go by fast) our little man arrived on July 8'th with head full of hair and a curious face.

Aditya Tej is his name!

Aarush has been a great brother ever since his little brother came along.  There was no hint of jealously or I need more of your time business. He was his usual cheery self.
He adores his baby brother and pampers him more than us. He watches over him when asked to and lets a scream out if he sees trouble.
There was this one morning when both boys woke up at odd hours, thanks to jet lag from India trip. They were playing in the bedroom while i tried to get a shut eye. Aditya started crying and I asked Aarush to rock his swing. The big brother did that and also fed him from the bottle which actually calmed him down. I woke up at that point.

This blog has a new name!
All About Aarush and Aditya.

4'th Birthday!

Considering my visibly growing pregnant belly and declining energy we thought of taking it
easy for Aarush's 4'th birthday. As luck would have it, we ended up celebrating it thrice.
I called a couple of his friends home and had a small party with cake and pizza.
Really, throw in some remote controlled cars and we can forget about entertaining boys for about 3 hrs. He had a great time.
His actually birthday fell on a saturday.  We were celebrating a friend's baby shower and
they gracefully agreed to let Aarush cut his birthday cake. And then a celebration at his school which coincided with bouncy castle day.

Super Mom- not!

Just when I was getting ready to get one of those Super-Mom badges for taking so good care of the son and not having to use an antibiotic for three big years of life, he comes home with one. A mild one if I may add. Did you hear the pop of my super-mom dream bubble?

Toy store and the moment of pride!

Kids and toy stores are a bad combo. Period. There is every right for a kid to get overwhelmed. We never took aarush to a toy store until about his third year thanks to the many gifts and online shopping. One day he asked us about a particular firetruck thomas he saw at his friend. As we grabbed the cart I imagined how it will soon be filled with all silly toys. But ladies and gentlemen, this awesome son of mine never lost focus from the firetruck thomas and returned home without buying one. Because he couldn't find the one he wanted and didn't ask for a substitute toy. Now, what is good behavior when its not rewarded? So, Kiran brought home a huge train table!

Graduation

Aarush graduated to three year old class in August'12. His is not the youngest kids class anymore.  As I was getting ready to talk to teachers about how to handle the transition, the boy showed absolutely no difference. He was his happy self in the new class. I think having some of the kids from his old class helped.
There is something with Aarush and transition. This boy adjusts to change so well it makes me wonder if there really was any change( major anti-jinx).
