No more tears!!!

Aarush's tear ducts didn't open up at birth which is common in infants. And they are supposed to open within their first year with just a regular massage on the inside corner of the eye.We have been doing that and the duct opened up in his right eye. The stubborn left eye was still blocked and I had to explain every Tom that he is not crying but his blocked tear duct is not draining those tears. Well not anymore, Aarush had this quick outpatient procedure, called a probe and irrigation done on 06/30/10.
I wasn't' too worried since I saw the procedure done on a 6 month old baby on our first visit to the eye doc. It totally took him 15 sec and the brave guy was ok with the procedure but not happy about the restraining part. He was his most active self when we went to the clinic. He ran around the place, high-five-ed other kids and even their moms, tap the glass doors, mess with the radio on reception desk. Mind you it was his nap time and there was no clue of sleep.
I have to appreciate their Nurses, I haven't seen such good ppl in a while, they made us feel special, played with Aarush all the time, picked him up and did not mind his monkey business but were playing along with him .
It takes a week or two before the results show up, but I am sure it was a success. My baby will be free from those unwanted tears.
